Biographie
KOMBI is the solo project of João Kombi (TEST), launched in 2024, moving through drone, noise and experimental music in intense, physical and deeply immersive performances. In its short time of existence, the project has already become one of the most active names in the contemporary Brazilian experimental scene.
After a first European tour in 2024, KOMBI released the album Alimento a Dor in 2025 on 12” vinyl. The record was selected by journalist Andy Cumming, from Sounds and Colors, as one of the standout releases of the year. The album consolidated the project’s aesthetic, marked by dense textures, layers of noise, the exploration of extreme timbres and a visceral approach to performance.
